« Les 13 morceaux possèdent une qualité narrative qui fait penser aux films des auteurs à qui Saïet rend hommage tout en proposant une lecture renouvelée des films, une autre manière de les comprendre. Dans sa démarche, ce disque n’est pas sans rapport avec la manière des articles inspirés du « Ciné-journal » de Serge Daney. Ce dernier proposait une analyse étonnante et décalée d’un film ou de son auteur. Pour ses bande-sons imaginaires, L.S. a multiplié les influences : américaines, asiatiques et européennes. Le disque possède une unité, acoustique et électronique, qui fait que l’écoute globale semble nous proposer une autre histoire du cinéma, comme dans un long travelling, un plan-séquence à travers les âges, les lieux, les décors et les films. En réinterprétant les films de manière totalement subjective, L.S. nous donne à entendre quelque chose qui, paradoxalement, colle plus encore au sujet traité. C’est donc en nous éloignant de l’objet évoqué qu’il nous en fait toucher plus encore la réalité et rend plus tangibles la force et l’originalité de ces cinéastes. » Octopus (2001)
